When I was looking for a TV quite different from others in the market, I came across the Samsung LN19B361 LCD Television. “How is it different?” You may ask. First and foremost is it looks. The other thing that made me buy this Samsung High Definition TV is the fact that it’s just 19″ and not one of those 50″ or 60″ monster TVs that have become the order of the day. The look is well complemented by some brilliant features. This Samsung LCD Television comes with a 720p resolution to produce high definition images that capture your imagination. According to iSuppli Corporation, after a year of losses or zero returns, the world’s large-size LCD panel business return to profitability in the third quarter. Illustrate market trends and give an example, 32-inch HDTV LCD panels are the most popular size of large panels in the third quarter of its industry-wide profits of up to 13%. In contrast, in 2009 the first and second quarters of 32-inch panels were a loss of 31% and 12% in 2008 fourth-quarter loss of 23%. In the third quarter of 2008, 32-inch high-definition TV panel margins to zero. The last time industry in the 32-inch high-definition LCD TV panels to achieve a profit or in the second quarter of 2008, when the rate of return is 19%. LCD panel is not profitable for so long the main reason for the market in the extreme state of oversupply, which led to LCD panel prices are below cost of production. However, the manufacturer cuts and reduced capacity utilization, coupled with China’s television market demand for the panels better than expected in the third quarter to help the industry return to profitability. LCD panels used in the manufacture of glass shortage of panels in the third quarter also contributed to the tight supply market, a factor which further increased the price and profits. Many panel suppliers just return to profitability, are still strict control of inventory, does not intend to significantly reduce prices.

Most small LCD tv’s don’t have brilliant sound and can sound “tinny”. But a quick tweak of the equaliser settings on this and the sound is far better than you would expect. The picture quality is simply amazing, and I’ve yet to see a better picture on a 19″ screen (and I’ve tried them all now). The stand is adjustable for tilt, giving approx 15degrees forwards tilt and 90 degrees back. With the stand folded back 9o degrees, it then turns into a wall mount. There is a seperate bracket supplied that attaches to your wall and the base of the stand slots onto it vertically. Alternatively it has Vesa 75 x 75 mounting options. When using a Vesa mount, the stand is removeable and you are supplied with covers for the base of the TV to cover up the hole. The remote control is a dream to use, so ergonomic and tactile. Everything is clearly labelled and easy to work out even without reading the manual! This is also a true widscreen TV with a 16:9 screen so picture is displayed perfectly. Whereas some other tv’s on the market are little more than pc monitors with a built in tuner, with screens which are 16:10! That can cause picture stretching or cropping. I have a 50″ Pioneer Kuro as my main TV in the living room and this Samsung on a wall bracket in the bedroom and i’m very glad i bought it. Picture quality is excellent, the inbuilt Freeview is brilliant as is the connectivity. Only annoying thing is the ‘welcome noise’ it makes when you turn it on or off, like when your computer starts up. I’d recommend this and already have done to friends.
