Help connecting 360 to HD?

I have a Insignia 19 inch LCD 720p tv in my room and when i try to hook up the component and i go to component mode on the tv it says it does not support it(the 360). i may have hooked it up wrong, could someone walk me through the set up or if you have this tv and it works let me know.
Also the thing that sucks is standard definition 360 play is extremely laggy and impossible to play with online, i need this component to work or ill have to go blow 50 bucks on hdmi

It could be that your xbox itself it broken. Standard definition should not be laggy at all. I’ve hooked up my 360 to my HDTV plenty of time and just hooking up the components should be enough.
Try calling Xbox support. They usually solve most of the problems. I have attached the web page with the phone number on it. Make sure you can see the serial number on the xbox ready.
